Game 83: Notes and Observations from the Stands

The Blue Crabs were beaten soundly by the Long Island Ducks tonight, 7-3.  In what amounted to a last ditch effort at SOME offense, the Crabs threw up 3 runs in the 8th.  But for the most part, the Blue Crabs were no threat to the superior pitching talents of the Long Island Ducks.  The Crabs seemed kind of life-less out there.

There was a nice crowd of about 3,356 out for the game tonight, and they seemed into it.  That’s a good thing.

James Shanks had a great game.  He went 2-5 with an RBI and a run scored, and made some really impressive plays out in left field.

But, what’s up with the HD video board?  That big, blue square was most distracting.  Don’t they have a warranty on that bad boy?  :)

Anyone know what happened?  Left over remnants of the lightning strike?

And what’s up with the teams logo on the field?  It certainly goes through spurts when it isn’t there (like the picture above).  Anyone know what the story with the logo is?  They haven’t played a home game in like 10 days, so I know it’s not field maintenance…
